Filmmaker Masterclass with Marion Pilowsky

Using her film as a case study, Marion brings her extensive filmmaking knowledge across directing, producing, distribution and finance to the table and will focus on how to bring your story to the screen from start to finish.

Marion Pilowsky is a writer, director, producer, and executive producer. She has had a distinguished career in independent film financing, development, production, and distribution, including appointments as Head of Worldwide Acquisitions and Development at United International Pictures, Head of International Productions at Myriad Pictures Inc and Drama Investment Executive Producer for Showtime Australia. She wrote and directed six short films before co-writing and directing the feature film THE FLIP SIDE starring Eddie Izzard and Emily Taheny for 20th Century Fox. Marion wrote and directed the 6x24’ factual entertainment series RECIPE FOR LOVE which was nominated for the Australian SPA Entertainment of the Year award and won the Australian public television Program of the Year Award 2021. She has worked with actors such as Kelly Adams, Anthony LaPaglia, Ed Speleers, Adam James, Jude Law, Vanessa Guide, Michael Caine and Naomie Harris. Marion has just completed her second feature, ISLA’S WAY, a tender and warm-hearted documentary following the life of 87-year-old carriage driving legend, Isla Roberts, that was theatrically released. She has optioned prime time drama series concepts to Screentime, Endemol/Shine and Fremantle Media and is currently in development with Foxtel/Binge on a prime-time drama series and co-producing the Irish/Australian 6x1 romance series, ANNER HOUSE.
