Leaving a gift to Sydney Film Festival in your Will is a wonderful way to make a lasting contribution which will enable future generations of film-lovers to share your love of the Festival for years to come.
Ticket sales, corporate and government support are no longer able to provide all that is needed to produce the Festival. A bequest from your estate can make an enormous difference to securing the Festival’s future and will mean that your passion for film lives on to bring joy to others.

“On the evening of the first Wednesday of June you will find me inside the magnificent State Theatre along with 2,000 other people eagerly awaiting the start of the annual Sydney Film Festival. For me, the Festival program opens up a world of stories that are inspiring, challenging, moving, exciting and amusing. The satisfaction of watching these marvelous films is made all the richer by sharing them with an audience committed to the art of cinema and the pleasures of movie viewing. I also know that the Festival plays an important role in supporting Australian filmmakers, from their first short films to debut features and beyond, enabling them to continue to tell our own unique stories. Like many others I believe it is vital that as Australians we hold a mirror up to ourselves and honestly appraise that reflection and film is the perfect medium in which to do that.
I’ve volunteered my time and skills to support Sydney Film Festival by serving on the Board for the past six years, and with 2018 marking its 65th edition, I know that its continued success is dependent on contributions of philanthropic support. This is the reason that I’m proud of my decision to leave a gift in my will that will help ensure that the Festival is around for Sydney-siders to enjoy as I have, for at least another 65 years.”
