Unicorns
From directors Sally El Hosaini and James Krishna Floyd – an actor who starred in El Hosaini’s My Brother The Devil (SFF 2012). Single parent Luke (a rugged but sweet Ben Hardy, Bohemian Rhapsody) stumbles into a queer Diwali party at the back of an Indian restaurant one night. He becomes enamoured by the seductive performance of drag queen, Aysha (a stunning performance from newcomer Jason Patel) – pronouns are “icon and legend.” After a first encounter, Aysha offers Luke money to become her personal driver for gigs. Their chemistry is infectious as the two develop an unlikely romance, all the while navigating social and cultural expectations.
