Q: What’s the first film you remember that made an impression on you?

A: Mark Cousins’ odyssey The Story of Film had a profound impact on my understanding of movies, made me appreciate the art form, the history and how different cultures adapted it uniquely.

Q: What’s your favourite thing about Sydney Film Festival?

A: The amazing people who work behind the scenes to deliver a curated experience that enriches the culture of the city!

Q: Are you seeing any trends in films you’ve viewed in the last year?

A seismic shift away from the “male gaze” which is refreshing and most welcome.

Q: Has going to the cinema changed for you since COVID?

A: It has reaffirmed the importance of communal viewing and the thrill of striking up interesting conversations with strangers about the shared experience.
