A Welcome from Head of Screen NSW Grainne Brunsdon
Announcements May 26 2020 by Grainne Brunsdon
Over the coming weeks the 67th Sydney Film Festival will be taking one of Sydney’s showpiece events to audiences at home around the country as it goes virtual and national for the first time. It’s heartening that this has come at a time when we need to be connected, to share stories, more than ever.

The NSW Government has been a long-term supporter of the Festival, and while this year the community can’t attend in person, it’s hugely rewarding to see many of our supported projects selected for the 2020 program, including a retrospective of the Rachel Perkins outstanding classic Mabo, and the newly completed documentary The Leadership.

Diving In, Safety Net, and Groundhog Night are set for World Premieres at the Festival, marking the fourth year of the successful Screenability program – the platform for screen practitioners with disability that is produced in partnership with Screen NSW and the Festival.

The NSW Government through Screen NSW takes great pride in championing our local screen industry and we proudly support your stories with initiatives that aim to reflect the real-life diversity of the communities across NSW. Wherever this finds you, we hope you enjoy these incredible stories.
