POWER OF FILM FOR ALL

Sydney Film Festival is for everyone. Yet for many people, attending has never felt possible.

Barriers include cost, lack of cultural relevance in outreach, and limited visibility of pathways into screen culture.

SFF Film For All is a community powered ticketing and engagement program making the Festival welcoming, relevant, and accessible to more people.

In 2026, this initiative welcomed 489 people to the Festival. An increase of 70% from our pilot year in 2025.

76% were under 25

66% were first-time attendees

90% said they were likely or very likely to return to Sydney Film FestivaL

HOW FILM FOR ALL WORKS

Film For All is a community powered pay-it-forward ticketing initiative, that is authentically building a more diverse community of film and culture lovers at Sydney Film Festival.

Thanks to donor support, Film For All reached more people in 2026 through partnering with a broader range of community organisations, including Weave, ACE Western Sydney, Bankstown Poetry Slam, ATYP, GO Foundation Made in the West, Pasifika Film Festival and Lesbian Film Club.

As the program grows, we will:

  • Distribute complimentary tickets through trusted grassroots organisations, including First Nations groups, CALD communities, LGBTIQIA+ networks, youth organisations, cultural associations, and regional film societies
  • Recruit and support cultural leaders as community ambassadors, trusted voices who invite their communities into the Festival

Join us by donating anything from the price of your popcorn to that post-Festival feeling to share the joy of storytelling and cinema.

Make a difference

Film festivals are more than screenings. They are spaces of connection, creativity, and cultural exchange. They inspire the next generation of storytellers and audiences.

When you support Film For All, you are not just donating a free ticket but building a future where every voice has a seat in the cinema.

Consider making a one-off tax-deductible donation today or get in touch with the Philanthropy team to discuss elevated options for support.
