Twiggy
Synopsis
Famed for her blonde, boyish crop, painted-on lashes and striking mod style, Twiggy rose to superstardom as the face of the swinging ’60s – and hasn’t slowed down since. In this BFI London Film Festival-selected documentary, Twiggy – born Lesley Hornby, now Dame Lesley Lawson – reflects candidly on a life in fashion, film and fame, and charts her whirlwind rise from working-class London teen to global icon. Such celebrity admirers as Paul McCartney, Joanna Lumley, Sienna Miller, Dustin Hoffman, and Edward Enninful speak to her enduring cultural influence, creating a vibrant, affectionate portrait of this ever-evolving pop icon. It’s a fitting follow-up to Frost’s paean to fellow ’60s fashion legend Mary Quant.
