Straight on Till Morning
Synopsis
Craig Ouellette’s pulsating, thematically rich indie has won multiple awards at genre festivals and is primed to explode at SFF. A rare and exceptional diamond in the annals of rural-set survival thrillers, Straight on Till Morning draws terror from the clash between ultraconservative values and the desire to love without fear or judgement. Kelsey Christian and Bonnie Jean Tyer deliver knockout performances as the dream-filled queer lovers who have the misfortune to cross paths with the seemingly normal Robinson family. Scream queen Maria Olsen is soft-spoken dynamite as the extremely pious, gun-toting matriarch, whose ideas about love, family and commitment say much about today’s burning culture wars.
