At the Place of Ghosts
In a primordial forest where time collapses, estranged Mi’kmaw siblings Mise’l and Antle must confront the trauma that shattered their childhood. Now in their thirties, a malevolent spirit of bones and rot haunts them, forcing them to reunite. Together, they journey into the dark forest Sk+te'kmujue'katik to confront a life-altering moment they tried to bury. Directed by L’nu filmmaker Bretten Hannam (Wildhood, North Mountain), At the Place of Ghosts is a visceral supernatural thriller that traverses the boundaries between the physical and spirit worlds. Intimate and otherworldly, this tale blends haunting tones with family drama. It is a cinematic exploration of healing that asks: can new life grow from old wounds?
