Father Mother Sister Brother
Father Mother Sister Brother unfolds in three quietly comic tales. In one, siblings (Mayim Bialik, Adam Driver) make a dutiful trek to a father (Tom Waits) whose destitution may be an act; in another, Charlotte Rampling presides over ritual tea with daughters Vicky Krieps and Cate Blanchett; in the third, Indya Moore and Luka Sabbat sift through the residue of their parents lives. Jarmusch’s calm, humane gaze turns guilt, distance and acceptance into soft weather, a meditation on the mystery of who our parents were.
