Riceboy Sleeps

Feature A strong-willed Korean single mother and her young son start a new life in 1990s Canada. Anthony Shim’s semi-autobiographical drama has won more than 20 international awards.

Afire

Feature Silver Bear winner in Berlin, Christian Petzold (Undine, SFF 2021; Barbara, SFF 2012) returns with a tragicomic romp about four young people trapped at a holiday house as a fire draws near.

A Thousand And One

Feature Winner of the Sundance Grand Jury Prize, this sweeping story of love follows Inez (R&B star Teyana Taylor) as she kidnaps her six-year-old son Terry from the foster care system.

On The Adamant

Documentary Berlinale’s 2023 Golden Bear was awarded to documentarian Nicolas Philibert (To Be and To Have) for his moving portrait of a floating Parisian day-care centre for people with mental health difficulties.

Red, White & Brass

Feature This hilarious true story sees Tongan rugby superfans trick their way to the Rugby World Cup by forming a marching band — despite having never played. Executive produced by Taika Waititi.

Biosphere

Feature Mark Duplass (Morning Wars) and Sterling K. Brown (This is Us) play the last men on Earth in this unconventional twist-filled comedy. TIFF 2022.

Shortcomings

Feature Actor Randall Park’s (Veep, WandaVision) directorial debut is a hilarious, biting comedy about race, identity and desire, bringing Adrian Tomine’s graphic novel to the screen.

Cobweb

Feature Straight from Cannes, Kim Jee-woon’s (A Tale of Two Sisters, The Age of Shadows) latest is a deliriously funny and clever film about a director obsessed with re-shooting the end of his completed film. Stars Song Kang-ho (Parasite, SFF 2019).
