SELECTED: SYDNEY FILM FESTIVAL 2019
NOMINATED: BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL 2019
This true life redemption story of Bryon Widner, a young man raised by skinheads, for whom turning his back on hatred and violence meant undergoing painful and expensive operations to remove the tattoos that signified his terrible past life.
Israeli director Nattiv beautifully elicits the finest performances from Australian actress Danielle Macdonald (Dumplin, Patti Cake$) as a sassy single mother and Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, Fantastic Four, Snowpiercer) as Byron. This film is one that perfectly captures how love ultimately triumphs against internal conflict and external threats.
