An unusual love triangle plays out in the shadow of the Kosovo War. A superb debut film about an impending marriage jeopardised by the arrival of a former lover.

Anita and Bekim are planning for their wedding, which is just a fortnight away. At the same time, they await news of Anita’s parents, declared missing since the 1999 Kosovo War. When Bekim’s gay wartime lover, Nol, unexpectedly returns from France, it leads to swirling emotions. Exquisitely acted, compassionate and confident, The Marriage won the Critics’ and Special Jury prizes at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.

Festival guest: Blerta Zeqiri was born in Prishtina, Kosovo. Her award-winning short and medium length films have participated in more than a hundred film festivals. The Marriage is her feature film debut.
