Direct from Cannes, Anurag Kashyap’s (Gangs of Wasseypur, SFF 2012) incendiary, noirish thriller follows Kennedy, an assassin working for a corrupt police force with scores to settle.
Kennedy (Rahul Bhat) poses as a driver but is actually an expert assassin, extortionist and blackmailer. Beset by insomnia, he does job after grisly job on the instructions of corrupt Police Commissioner Rasheed Khan. For the cops, their position is a means to make money ¬– the higher the rank, the great the expectation of income. During one of his jobs, Kennedy meets the mysterious Charlie (Sunny Leone) and together they become embroiled in a drama that reaches the upper echelons of society. In his 27th film, award winning director Kashyap fashions a gripping, visually arresting thriller set in Mumbai’s underworld: where the cops, businessmen, gangsters, film stars and politicians collude, back-stab and try to advance at any cost.
