A taut, compulsive Tarantino-esque thriller, inspired by Andreas Malm’s controversial book, in which a group of environmental activists set out to sabotage an oil pipeline.
A slick young cast, including Lukas Gage (
White Lotus), Sasha Lane (
American Honey) and Marcus Scribner (
Black-ish) star as eight committed protestors, each with their own eco-agenda. They come together with a plan to blow up a west Texas pipeline and disrupt the oil trade. The motley crew are made up of a Native American bomb specialist; two women whose lives have been impacted by pollution (with a partner in tow); a Texan gun enthusiast; a filmmaker; and two seasoned campaigners. Director Daniel Goldhaber’s award winner has all the trappings of a heist movie, with a hectic pace, nail-biting tension and plenty of real cliff-hangers.
