Mark Duplass (Morning Wars) and Sterling K. Brown (This is Us) play the last men on Earth in this unconventional twist-filled comedy. TIFF 2022.
Welcome to the end of the world. In the first feature directed by producer Mel Eslyn (The One I Love, Room 104), life on Earth appears to have been obliterated by an unexplained catastrophe. All that’s left is a bio-dome where Billy (Duplass) and Ray (Brown) are left to ponder things, with just a few fish and their memories for company. This funny, smart and imaginative comedy is best entered knowing as little as possible. The perfectly paired actors sparkle through every moment, including a jaw dropping twist.
An act of daring — we’re waiting for the movie to cop out because most movies do. This one doesn’t, and bravo for that.
Jason Bailey, The Playlist
Post-apocalyptic survival meets the anxious buddy humour of Humpday in Biosphere, a mysterious and hilarious pic that really can’t be discussed much without saying things a prospective viewer would be better off not hearing.
The Hollywood Reporter
A funny and complicated film sure to provoke thought and discussion.
Drew Gregory, Autostraddle
