A Storm Foretold

Directed by Christoffer Guldbrandsen

A jaw-dropping, no-holds-barred portrait of Donald Trump’s former adviser, Roger Stone, filmed over three years in the lead-up to the 6 January storming of the US Capitol.
A trickster, a prince of darkness, a thug and a bully. They’re just a few of the words that have been used to describe Roger Stone. In Danish filmmaker Christoffer Guldbrandsen’s fly-on-the-wall documentary Stone is all of these and more – on display when he parties with the far-right Proud Boys, explains how he ‘managed’ the President, or applauds his brainchild, the ‘Stop the Steal’ campaign. Guldbrandsen’s camera captures all of Stone’s toxicity and shameless contempt for the opposition. The rotten underbelly of American politics is on full display in this disturbing portrayal.

New sessions added – Back by Popular Demand
We’re bringing 13 of the most-loved and sold-out films back by popular demand, for another four days after Closing Night until Thursday 22 June! Single tickets on sale now. Flexipass redeems are not available for these special post-Festival sessions. Short films do not screen with Back by Popular Demand sessions.
Entertaining, at times jaw-dropping, yet deeply dismaying.
Jessica Kiang, Variety
What elevates it to essential viewing is the account it gives of Stone’s contribution to the January 6th attack on the Capitol.
