A Frederick Wiseman Masterclass
As part of a wide-ranging exchange of ideas, Wiseman discusses his formative years as a filmmaker, elaborates on elements of his process, including his preferred approaches to shooting and editing, and revisits the contentious post-production history that impacted the distribution of his early classic, Titicut Follies (1967).
A selection of films screening in the film season are referenced with clips, including from City Hall (2020), Belfast, Maine (1999) and Welfare (1975) in an informative, generous-spirited, and expansive conversation that will interest and excite students, makers and aficionados of ‘reality fiction’ alike.
Available to filmmakers (professionals and students) from June 11 2022.
