Screen Day Out FAQs

How do I book a session?

To book a Screen Day Out session please email us a completed booking form and a member of our ticketing team will be in touch by phone or email to confirm the booking and take payment, by credit card or invoice.

For enquiries, please email or call us on 1300 733 733 on weekdays between 9am and 5pm.

How can I pay?

When a member of our ticketing team contacts you to confirm the booking, you can either pay via credit card or invoice.

How can I check the classification and age appropriateness of each film?

SFF has provided age recommendations for each Screen Day Out film – please see the website page for each film.

Films in the Screen Day Out program receive a special classification exemption that allows people of any age to attend, on the condition that an adult guardian accompany any groups or individuals under 15 years old.

For more information, please visit Australian Classification.

Is there any content I should be concerned about?

Our programmers have carefully selected films that are appropriate for younger viewers, and provided age recommendations for each film. However we do advise teachers and parents to read the synopsis of each film before making a judgement on whether it is appropriate for a particular school group.

How can I learn more about the content of each film?

Please see the individual web pages for each film for a detailed synopsis, age recommendations and (in most cases) a trailer. If you’d like more information, please email or call us on 1300 733 733.

What languages are the films in? Are non-English films subtitled?

Please check the individual film pages for details of what language each film is in. Non-English language films are screened with English subtitles.

Are there any resources available to me for the classroom?

A study guide by Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM) will be provided for each film by the end of April, detailing the relevance of the film to the NSW school curriculum and providing key learning points and class exercises.

Who do I call with questions about my booking?

Please email or call us on 1300 733 733.

Can I purchase tickets to other SFF sessions?

Due to classification restrictions, only school groups can book into the Screen Day Out sessions. Individuals can attend other festival sessions announced May 8. Children under 15 will only be admitted to 15+ films with a parent or guardian. No one under 18 is admitted to 18+ films.  Films in the Family section are classified for all ages, but please note the age recommendations for these films. Festival fans can book tickets to films after the full program goes on sale from 8 May.

How can I get more accessibility information relating to SFF Schools screenings?

Please visit our Access and Inclusion page for venue specific access information.

If a member of your group has any access needs, please let the member of our ticketing team know when they contact you to confirm your booking, so we can accommodate your needs.

What are my parking and travel options?
