Venue specific access information

State Theatre

The main entrance of the State Theatre on Market Street is accessible for people using a wheelchair. There will be temporary ramp access to the Mezzanine Level.

The State Theatre has six wheelchair accessible spaces available. These seats are situated on the Mezzanine Level and can be booked by contacting the Sydney Film Festival directly on 1300 733 733.

An accessible toilet is located next door. To access these facilities, please inform any staff member who will be happy to escort any patrons. Rest points are available in foyer and bathroom areas.

The State Theatre has a hearing loop located in the centre two blocks of seating in the mezzanine. Optimal seats are in the Mezzanine: Row H 26 - 32 Row G 25 - 31 Row F 25 - 31 Row E 24 - 30 Row D 23 - 29 Row C 23 - 29 and Row B 23 - 29.

Lower Town Hall

Wheelchair access is available. If you require assistance when visiting the building, please contact us to discuss your requirements on (02) 9265 9189.

Event Cinemas

Ramp access to Event Cinemas is available from the main entrance on George Street. Cinemas 4, 8 and 9 used by the festival are wheelchair accessible. There are between 3 and 4 tickets available for people using a wheelchair in each cinema. To book please call 1300 733 733.

Accessible toilets are located a short distance from each cinema. Please notify staff of your access needs when booking your tickets.

Only Cinema 8 and VMAX 1 and VMAX 2 are hearing loop enabled, please see the festival staff for locations that are best covered by the hearing loop. Cinema 4, 9 and 11 have Infrared- Williams sound and can be accessed with a headset provided by Event Cinemas staff.

Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace Cremorne

All cinemas in the Hayden Orpheum are wheelchair accessible, with the exception of Cinema 3. There is lift or wheelchair access to all other cinemas. There are accessible toilets located a short distance from the cinema. Hearing loops in all venues. Please call 1300 733 733 to book.

Dendy Opera Quays

There is lift access to the cinema used by the festival and it is wheelchair accessible. There are accessible toilets located a short distance from the cinema. 4 tickets are available for people using a wheelchair.

The cinema is hearing loop enabled. The best rows are in the middle of the theatre (avoid the back two rows or front two rows).

Art Gallery of New South Wales

The main entrance, at the front of the Gallery, is via two short flights of stairs: nine steps outside and two in the vestibule inside. A permanent access ramp provides an alternative to the external stairs. Another ramp is positioned on the inside stairs and a Gallery staff member is available for assistance if required. All areas inside the building are accessible by ramps and two lifts.

Wheelchair accessible toilets are located on lower level 1.

There are 4 free accessible parking spaces: two at the front of the Gallery and two at the rear.

Hearing loops are available in the back two rows of the Domain Theatre.

Apple Store

The Apple Store, Sydney is wheelchair accessible and an accessible restroom is available on the ground floor.

If you require a sign-language interpreter or other special assistance to attend any of our events, please let the Apple Store know with reasonable advance notice.

Dendy Newtown

All cinemas are wheelchair accessible. Please use the lift on the Ground Floor. Cinemas 1-4 are located on Level 1 and Cinemas 5-10 are located on Level 3. Accessible bathrooms are located on the Ground Floor on Level 3.
